Is of no consequence,
He has yet to exist;
As is the man that I am,
At this moment,
In this skin,
A mere shell,
A trace that I will never be again;
No, the me of greatest import,
The me that matters most,
Is the me that I struggle to be,
Every moment,
Every hour,
Every day;
It is the me that I believe in,
That matters;
That is the me that is the most delicate,
The most precious,
Perched precariously on the edge,
Staring at the abyss,
That would consume me,
Extinguish the light within;
That is Love,
To share with another,
The unprotected soul,
Of the man that I dream I can be.

Kings and Pirates
We were Kings and Pirates;
We were Knights and Peasants;
We were Farmers and Merchants;
We were Priests and Poets;
We were Artists and Explorers;
We were Saints and Sinners;
We were Lovers and Fighters;
We were Dreamers and Builders;
We were what we are and always will be;
Their sons;
Who belong to all those who came before;
We are their blood coursing through our veins;
We are the summary of all they were;
We are the epitome of all they could be;
We are;
And that is the gift they left us.
