VOLUME I BOOK 3
Sharp Mind, Strong Body, Luminous Spirit
Sharp Mind, Strong Body, Luminous Spirit
Several years ago, as I approached my thirtieth birthday, I began the usual self-evaluation that accompanies that event. I realized that my life to that point had been a series of journeys that served as an escape valve to relieve the restlessness that built up within me. I could characterize it as a series of explorations; of attempts to quench my thirst for experiences. There were cycles of questions then answers, and these quests for answers were usually followed by further questions. This cycle was driven by something in me that I had never identified.
It began to crystallize in my mind that I was living by principles that though unnamed were present in all my actions. I set out to capture these principles in words; as simply stated as possible. I sculpted away the excess of my early attempts to lay down my ideals until I arrived at a single phrase. This phrase served as both roadmap and destination. It is the overriding “yes” that allows me to say “no” to the things that put me off course. It is the benchmark against which all of my decisions are measured.
We all have heroes – real and imagined – who inspire us. If I were to capture all the positive traits of all of my heroes, and fuse them into one human vessel that would be the ideal I strive for, I believe this person would be described as possessing a sharp mind, a strong body, and a luminous spirit.
